Description
The barn, located approximately 15 meters south-east of The Hollies, is an early 17th-century structure with later alterations. It is timber framed with weatherboarded infill and is partly covered in corrugated iron, sitting on a sandstone rubble plinth. The roof is made of asbestos sheets. The framing consists of three square panels from the cill to the wall-plate, with weatherboarded infill to the right. There is a threshing entrance featuring wide double doors in the second bay from the left, along with an eaves hatch to the right of center. The gable ends have hatches on the first floor. Inside, the framing includes a mix of square panels and vertical posts, supported by long straight tension braces and long elbowed braces for the bay partitions. The roof has a double-purlin queen-strut design in four bays, with straight windbraces and V-struts extending from the collars to the gable ends. The barn occupies a prominent position along the roadside. The Hollies is not included in this listing.
