Description
This barn, likely dating from the 16th or 17th century, is attached to the north-west end of Laburnum Cottage. It features a timber frame constructed in cruck style, with much of the exterior now clad in brick and a weatherboarded gable end. The roof is made of corrugated iron. The barn consists of three framed bays that are open to the roof. On the west side, there is a wide former threshing entrance to the left, accompanied by two smaller doorways to the right. Inside, there are three true cruck trusses with Alcock apex type B and blade-curve type E. The lack of smoke-blackening and the later style of the crucks indicate that the barn has always been used for agricultural purposes. Laburnum Cottage itself is not included in this listing.
