Description

The Nichols memorial is a pedestal tomb located approximately 4.5 meters south of the chancel of the Church of St George, dating from around 1820. It is made of limestone ashlar and features a square shape with a moulded plinth and a projecting capping topped with a scalloped urn finial. The moulded inscription panel on the east side commemorates Robert Nichols, who died in 1834, while the panel on the south side honors his wife, Mary, who died in 1819. Additional panels on the north and west sides commemorate other family members.
