Description
BOMERE HEATH C.P. B 5067 (south-west side) SJ 41 NE 6/69 Yeaton Lodge - GV II
House. 1815 (deeds). Limewashed red brick. Hipped slate roof. L-plan. 3 storeys. Deep eaves. Pair of brick ridge stacks, pair of external brick lateral stacks to rear wing, brick ridge stack to rear, and external brick end stack to rear. 3 bays; glazing bar sashes with segmental heads and stone cills. Central small-paned half-glazed door (2 lower panels) with panelled reveals and soffit, moulded architrave and rendered doorcase consisting of pilasters with incised Greek key ornmant, frieze, moulded cornice and blocking course with raised pedimented block. 3 stone steps up to door. Left-hand return front: full-height bow with curved 16-pane glazing bar sash to second floor, and tripartite glazing bar sashes to ground and first floors with Greek key ornament to wooden mullions. Rear wing (garden front): 3 bays; glazing bar sashes with segmental heads and stone cills; ground-floor tripartite glazing bar sashes. Central small- paned half-glazed door (2 lower panels) with moulded architrave, frieze and shaped brackets supporting cornice. One-storey glazed verandah. Interior not inspected, but staircase noted: L-plan 2-flight, with half-landing, open string, turned balusters (2 per tread), swept handrail, and wreathed newel.
