Description
Meesons Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse that underwent alterations and additions in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick with a dentil course at the eaves, timber framing, and rubblestone. The roof is covered with plain tiles, gabled and hipped to the north. There is a large projecting eaves stack on the east side and a central brick ridge stack, both featuring twin diagonal shafts and oversailing capping courses.
The exterior is two stories high. On the east side, there is a rubble wall that is partially covered by a large projecting stone stack on the left and a projecting farm building range on the right. The first floor has a pentice roof that shelters a plain boarded entrance door and a range of 19th-century casement windows with brick segmental arches. The west side has a brick wall with a four-window range of tall wood mullion and transom windows, all with deep brick segmental-arched lintels. There is a porch to the center right that covers a plain boarded door with top lights. Additionally, there are two hipped dormers, each with two-light casements, and projecting single-storey gabled extensions at both ends. The interior has not been inspected.
