Description
This is a barn located approximately 50 meters south of Nills Farm, likely built in the mid- to late 18th century. It features a timber frame with red brick infill set on a rubblestone plinth and has a plain tile roof. Originally a threshing barn, it has a wide threshing entrance on the north side that has been blocked and replaced with an inserted boarded door, which is accessed by a short flight of steps. The framing consists of four square panels extending from the cill to the wall-plate, with the left gable rebuilt in red brick and the right gable clad in uncoursed limestone rubble, topped with weatherboarding. Inside, there is a Queen-post roof spanning three bays, and to the left, there is a raised platform for grain storage. Nills Farmhouse is not included in this listing.
