CHILD'S ERCALL C.P. VILLAGE ROAD (north side) SJ 62 NE 7/29 - Manby and Topham memorial approx. one metre to north of Church of Saint Michael

Pedestal tomb. Dated 1837. Grey sandstone ashlar. Recessed rectangular side panels with reeded architraves and corner paterae, fluted frieze, moulded cornice, and stepped top to urn finial. Inscribed: "In Respectful memory of/ JOHN MANBY Son of JOHN/ and ELIZABETH TOPHAM/died April 15th 1837/Aged 3 months/Also ELIZABETH wife of/JOHN TOPHAM/ died June 1st 1837/Aged 25 Years". The memorial formerly had a railed enclosure (see surrounding low wall).
