Description
The Manby and Topham memorial, located approximately one metre north of the Church of Saint Michael, is a pedestal tomb dated 1837. It is made of grey sandstone ashlar and features recessed rectangular side panels with reeded architraves and corner paterae. The memorial has a fluted frieze, a moulded cornice, and a stepped top that supports an urn finial. The inscription reads: "In Respectful memory of/ JOHN MANBY Son of JOHN/ and ELIZABETH TOPHAM/died April 15th 1837/Aged 3 months/Also ELIZABETH wife of/JOHN TOPHAM/ died June 1st 1837/Aged 25 Years". The memorial originally had a railed enclosure, as indicated by the surrounding low wall.
