Description

The balustraded wall to The Quarry in Shrewsbury was built in 1906 for the Shrewsbury Horticultural Society. It is made of ashlar and is approximately 30 meters long. The design features alternating balustrades and solid panels, all topped with shallow pyramidal copings, and divided by piers that have double chamfered caps. There are two bowed sections that project into the park. In the center of the wall, a raised section of parapet displays an inscription that reads, "This balustrade was erected by the Shrewsbury Horticultural Society 1906," along with the Salop arms above it.
