Description

This is a cross base located approximately 7 metres southeast of the Church of St Peter in Cound. It is probably from the 18th century, though it may have earlier origins. The base is made of yellow and grey sandstone ashlar and features four circular steps with moulded nosings leading up to a square socket. This structure is identified as a cross base in late Ordnance Survey Churchwardens' Accounts.
