Description
This is an L-shaped range of barns located approximately 1.5 meters south-east of Hazelwood Farmhouse. The barns date from the late 17th century and were partly rebuilt in the late 18th century, with later additions and alterations. They are constructed with a timber frame, featuring 20th-century red brick infill, weatherboarding, and corrugated iron cladding, topped with corrugated iron and machine tile roofs. The three barns create an L-shape around the north and east sides of the farmyard. The structure has two levels, with scattered eaves hatches and stable doors, as well as wide full-height double doors at the angle between the ranges. Inside, the framing is visible, with vertical posts replaced by late 18th-century red brick in the two left bays of the north range. The roof features mixed collar and tie beam and queen-post trusses, with V-struts extending from the collars to the gable ends of the barn at the angle between the north and east ranges.
