Description
The Adney memorial and railed enclosure, located approximately 6 meters northeast of the chancel of the Church of St Mary, is a chest tomb dating from around 1840. It is constructed from limestone and features cast-iron railings. The tomb is rectangular in shape and has a moulded plinth and capping, with square corner pilasters. On the south side, there is a rectangular inscription panel that commemorates Ann, who died in 1840 and was the widow of George Adney. Additional inscriptions on the other sides honor various members of the Adney family. The railings that surround the monument are adorned with spear finials and urn-shaped standards.
