Description
The cartshed at Estate Yard Cottages, now used as garages, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a plain-tile roof with a rectangular plan. The building is single storey, with a stone bay to the right that has a boarded door. The center has double boarded doors flanking an open bay, while the left side has a stone gable end. The right gable includes a brick segmental-arched opening with a boarded door. Inside, the structure has a 4-bay plan supported by 3 trusses and a single trenched purlin roof. This building is included for its group value, as it is part of a collection with the Estate Yard Cottages, Keepers Cottage, Dovecote, and barn, showcasing a complete example of early 19th-century estate village planning.
