Description
The Smithy, now a store, dates from the late 18th to early 19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and features plain-tile roofs that are hipped at the rear. There is an integral brick stack located at the back of the building. The structure has an L-shaped plan with long and short parallel wings.
The exterior is single-storey and presents a street front with two gables. Each gable has a Gothick-style pointed wood window with Y-tracery, although the upper section is blind and fitted with boarded external shutters. On the right side, there is a wide boarded door located on the right side of the short wing. Set back to the right on the side of the long wing are a boarded stable door and a two-light opening, both featuring external shutters and brick segmental-arched lintels. The interior has not been inspected.
