Description
This is a pedestal tomb and railings located 7 metres south of the nave of the Church of St Michael in Hopton Wafers, dating from the early 19th century. The tomb is made of sandstone ashlar and features iron railings. It has a curved pyramid lid topped with a tabernacle finial and a moulded cornice. The sides of the tomb have plain raised panels and a moulded chamfered plinth. The railings consist of plain square standards with pointed heads, a plain top rail, square corner standards with urn finials, and double curved braces, all set on a plain stone plinth. The memorial commemorates Lucy Nott, who died in 1838, and Charles Cooksey, who died in 1855.
