Description

This is a terrace of eight houses at 56-70 The Mount in Shrewsbury, built in the early 19th century. The houses are constructed of brick with a Welsh slate roof. They are three storeys high, with a single window to each floor in each house. Each house has a doorway to the right of the unit, above a fanlight set in a pedimented architrave. Most windows are 12-pane sashes, although some have been replaced with 2- or 4-pane windows, all with flat-arched stuccoed heads. The house at number 70 has a tripartite sash window on the ground floor. A dentilled eaves band runs along the top of the building. Diagonal brick stacks are located at each end of the terrace.
