Description
Cadogan House and Stable is a house and adjoining stable and coach house built around 1830. It is constructed of brick and has a hipped Welsh slate roof, forming an L-shaped plan. The building is two storeys high and features a five-window range on the north elevation, which is unevenly spaced. There is a six-panelled door towards the left, topped with an overlight and framed by a moulded architrave with console brackets supporting an entablature. To the left of the doorway is a single window, and to the right are three windows, all of which are 12-pane sashes with cambered brick heads. Only the two central windows on the first floor are genuine; the others are blind. The eaves overhang slightly.
The main entrance front faces east and also has a five-window range that is unevenly spaced. It features a central six-panelled door with an overlight set in an architrave supported by Doric columns, which carry an entablature and have panelled rebates. The stable and coach house adjoins to the west and is connected to the house by a short wall. This structure is also two storeys tall, with inserted doors on the left side of the rear elevation and two doors on the right flanked by two-light windows. There is a loft entry above, and gable end stacks are present.
