Description

Wheathall Cottage is a late 17th-century cottage located in Condover. It has a timber frame, set on a high brick plinth with painted brick infill, and a machine tile roof. The building originally comprised two rooms. There is a single, flat-roofed dormer window to the rear, providing attic light. The timber framing features one square panel with short straight tension braces below the eaves. The front facade has a late 19th-century three-light casement window to the left and a top-hung casement window in the centre of the ground floor. A lean-to porch has been added to the rear, providing access to the building. A prominent, stepped end stack is visible on the left side, alongside a later end stack on the right. The interior was not inspected but the left-hand ground-floor room is noted to have a chamfered cross-beam ceiling.
