Description
High Walton Farmhouse is a house that dates from the 17th century and was altered in the mid-19th century. It features a timber-frame structure with render, stone rubble, painted brick, and a plain tile roof, along with two 19th-century spurred ridge stacks. The building has a T-shaped plan with 19th-century wings and is two storeys high, presenting a four-window range. This includes three 20th-century casements in semi-dormers and one 19th-century, two-light mullion window with cast-iron lattice glazing beneath a simple hood, and spike finials on the gables. The central entrance consists of a 20th-century half-glazed door with a moulded architrave, situated in a 19th-century porch, and is flanked by 19th-century cross-windows with metal glazing bars, along with a three-light mullion window with cast-iron lattice glazing to the left. The left side of the building has various casements and a 20th-century porch. The gables were restored in the 20th century. Inside, there is a 19th-century winder staircase, chamfered ceiling beams, and exposed posts and timber framing on the ground floor.
