Description
This is a 17th-century house located at No. 1 Bromfield. It features a timber-frame and brick construction, with coursed rubble used for the plinth and gable ends, and a plain tile roof. The building has a four-bay plan and is a single storey with an attic. The entrance is located to the centre right and consists of a 19th-century half-glazed door set in a gabled timber-framed porch on a stone plinth. To the right of the entrance, there is a 3-light mullion metal lattice casement, and to the left, there are similar 3-light and 2-light casements.
Above, there are four 19th-century timber-framed gable dormers, each with 2-light metal lattice casements in moulded cases. The gables are adorned with scalloped and pierced barge-boards and mutilated spike-finials. On the left side of the building, there is a 20th-century 2-light casement in painted brickwork, situated above a 20th-century casement in coursed rubble. At the rear, there is an outshut that features a 2-light metal lattice casement and a brick end stack.
