Description
The screen located approximately 290 metres to the west of Lilleshall Hall is a loggia built around 1900. It is constructed of sandstone ashlar with a concealed roof and features a three-bay open loggia in the Corinthian order. The loggia has fully detached columns that support an entablature, which is broken forward to match the columns. There is a plain blocking course that also breaks forward over the columns, topped with urns on the dies. The columns frame arches that include architraves, imposts, and console keys. The interior features similar diaphragm and saucer domes in each bay. This structure is part of the late Victorian or Edwardian garden improvements at Lilleshall Hall.
