Terrace, Garden Loggia, and Orangery Adjoining Lilleshall Hall to West and South

The terrace, garden loggia, and orangery adjoining Lilleshall Hall to the west and south were built around 1829 by Sir Jeffry Wyatville in an Italianate style. The structure features sandstone ashlar and has a restored balustrade from around 1980. The terrace is L-shaped, located to the west and south of Lilleshall Hall, and includes an arcaded balustrade with blocked rustication and chamfered coping. There are battered square projections with solid balustrades at the southwest corner and to the east.

Access to the terrace includes two flight staircases to the north with an arcaded balustrade, a two-flight dog-leg staircase at the southwest corner with a solid balustrade, and a staircase adjoining the square projection to the east. Beneath the terrace to the west is a 12-bay garden loggia featuring chamfered round arches and groin vaulting, with a four-panelled door leading into the house. A sundial is located on the southwest projection, consisting of a short Tuscan column supporting a dial block with a globe finial, inscribed with "LET OTHERS TELL/OF STORMS and SHOWERS/ I'LL ONLY COUNT YOUR SUNNY HOURS."

The orangery projects to the west at the north end of the terrace and is a single storey with an arcaded balustraded terrace above, accessible by a flight of steps from the terrace to the right. It has three bays by one bay and large full-height round arched windows with glazing bars. The entrance is at the right-hand end, and there is an arched entrance beneath the terrace to the right, leading to a barrel-vaulted tunnel behind that connects to the garden loggia. A short flight of garden steps with a solid balustrade and cast iron urns adjoins the orangery to the south. The terrace and orangery are integral to the formal gardens located to the west of Lilleshall Hall.
