Description

The Congregational Chapel, originally built in 1775 and enlarged in 1834, is a red brick structure featuring an ashlar front added in 1854. The front has a pedimented gable with moulded coping and quoin pilasters topped with moulded caps. A lunette is set in the gable. The chapel is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with round-headed windows that have keystones and imposts. The wide central doorway is elliptical arched, featuring a fanlight and panelled double doors, and is flanked by detached Tuscan columns that support a wide broken pediment. To the left (south) is a narrow addition that includes a pedimented doorway.
