Description

Nos 6 and 8 Chapel Street are a pair of buildings dating from around the 17th century, featuring a timber-framed structure. No. 6 retains its exposed timber frame with painted brick infill panels, while No. 8 has been encased in painted brick during the 19th century and has undergone significant internal alterations. Both buildings have a plain-tile roof with gabled ends and are two storeys high, comprising three bays. The windows are 19th-century sashes with vertical glazing bars, and No. 6 includes a casement window on the first floor. The entrances are highlighted by pilastered doorcases with entablatures, and there are brick ridge stacks on the roof.
