Description
Nos 47 and 49 on High Street is an early 19th-century building made of stuccoed brick with a timber-frame case. It features a hipped roof covered with concrete tiles and stands two storeys tall, with a layout of four by one bays. The building is positioned on a corner with a splayed angle, and it has a blocking course and a moulded cornice that is raised over the corner. The bays are separated by giant pilasters, and there are sash windows with glazing bars. On the first floor, the two left bays have pivot windows. The doorcase includes narrow moulded pilasters, a broken pediment, a semi-circular fanlight with radiating glazing bars, and a panelled door. The corner shop, dating from the 19th century, has a double-fronted design with pilasters, a cornice, and a central entrance. Inside, some timber framing is exposed, likely dating back to the 17th century.
