Description
This sundial, located approximately 3 meters south of the nave of the Church of St John the Baptist, dates from the early 19th century and is made of sandstone. It features a vase-shaped baluster with a moulded plinth and capping, resting on a base of three circular steps. It is said to have been created by S. Whitford of London and originally inscribed with his name and that of John Rasbrook of Whittington, although these inscriptions were not decipherable during the resurvey in June 1986.
