Description
The sundial located in the churchyard of St John the Baptist dates back to 1596, with a baluster added in the late 18th century. It is made of buff sandstone and features a square base that supports a tall column baluster topped with a moulded cap made from a different stone. The sundial has a simple copper plate and gnomon, which includes the inscription "GD 1596" along with two sets of lines and numbers, one of which is modern in style, suggesting that the plate may have been replaced or reset. This sundial is listed for its group value context.
