Description
The former coach house and stables, located approximately 20 metres north-west of Chilton Grove, date from the early 19th century and have undergone late 19th century and later alterations and additions. The building is constructed of red brick with stone cills and hinge blocks, topped with a plain tile roof that is hipped to the right. It is designed in an L-plan and stands two storeys tall, featuring an integral brick lateral stack on the north-west side.
The left side of the building was originally the coach house, which has two boarded loft doors, with the left door having a segmental head. The ground floor includes a blank window on the left and a coach house entrance on the right that features a depressed arch. The stables extend to the right, showcasing a loft door at the front and a partly-blocked ground-floor window beneath it. The left-hand return front has a half-glazed door. In the later lean-to on the south-east side, 20th-century garage doors have been inserted. Inside, the stables contain three loose boxes with wooden partitions.
