Description

This building complex includes stables, a cow house, a loose box, and a former fodder room and farmworkers' accommodation, now used as storage. It dates from the early to mid-19th century and is constructed of red brick in monk bond with stone hinge blocks, featuring slate and corrugated iron roofs. The layout is L-shaped, with one storey and two storeys. The later two-storey block has a dentil brick eaves cornice.

The former stable block to the north has two-light wooden loft windows on the right side, four ground-floor segmental-headed slatted wooden windows, and two two-leaf segmental-headed boarded doors. There is a flight of nine stone tallet steps leading up to a segmental-headed boarded loft door in the right-hand gable end, and a blocked circular pitching eye in the left-hand gable end. At the rear, there is a segmental-headed cart entrance with a pair of large boarded doors.

To the south, the cow house and loose box feature two segmental-headed slatted wooden windows alternating with two segmental-headed slatted boarded doors, along with a segmental-headed slatted wooden casement in the left-hand gable end. The former store and farmworkers' accommodation to the southeast has two boarded doors on the south side, with the right door having a segmental head. There is an off-centre ridge stack to the right.

Although the interior was not inspected, it is reported to contain many early and mid-19th century fixtures and fittings, including stalls, mangers, feeding troughs, and tie rings. These buildings are part of a complete early and mid-19th century model farm complex associated with the National Trust, Attingham Park Estate Vernacular Building Survey.
