ONIBURY Onibury Station and platform rooms

GV II

Stationmaster's house and platform rooms, now guesthouse. Later C19. Ashlar sandstone; Welsh slate roof with gable to platform; 3 ornamented ashlar stacks. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; single-window range: margin-glazed cross-window with casements, under ashlar lintel; sill band; moulded and pierced bargeboards with enriched pendant finial. Entrance in lean-to porch to left: C20 door, and margin-glazed overlight, under moulded and pierced eaves-board; returned band over. Left returned side: 2 advanced gabled wings; returned band; 3 similar cross-windows; similar bargeboards and finials; single-storey lean-to with smaller cross-window. Single-storey wing to right, formerly waiting room: 3 similar cross-windows; half-glazed panelled door under chamfered ashlar lintel and gabled porch hood with moulded and pierced bargeboards and enriched pendant finial; spike finial to gable. Rear: 3 similar cross-windows; returned band; moulded bargeboards with finials to gables. INTERIOR: not inspected.
