Description

The entrance gates, piers, wing walls, and screens at Stokesay Court were constructed around 1890 by Thomas Harris. They are made of wrought iron and sandstone. The central carriage gates are accompanied by side gates, all set on open-work piers. The piers are made of ashlar and rubble, featuring moulded plinths, cartouches, bands, and moulded capitals topped with pyramid and ball finials. The gates are flanked by curved rubble wing walls that have chamfered ashlar coping and wrought-iron screens with ball finials on the posts.
