Description
This is a memorial and railings located 4 metres south of the nave of the Church of St Michael in Hopton Wafers, dating from the early 19th century. The memorial is made of sandstone ashlar and features iron railings. It has a curved pyramid lid with a moulded cornice and a large urn finial. The sides of the tomb have panels with incised borders and inset quadrant corners, resting on a two-stage plinth that has a moulded chamfered upper stage and a plain lower stage. The railings are ornate, with spear-head diagonally-set square verticals and square-section corner standards that have decorative heads, all set in a plain stone plinth. This memorial commemorates Drusilla Nicholls, who died in 1803.
