Description

The houses at 143 and 144 Corve Street date from the early 18th century, although they may incorporate an earlier core. They are constructed of painted brick with a plain tile roof and a brick stack at the rear. The houses have a two-unit plan, extending over two storeys with an attic and a cellar. The front facade originally featured a four-window arrangement. Modern 6/6 sash windows are now in place, set beneath gauged-brick flat arches. Faint traces of a storey band running across the front are visible, as is a brick dentil eave. Two restored dormers, likely dating from the 19th century, have casements. The front also features modern flat-hooded doors, one to the right and one to the left, along with modern 6/6 sash windows.
