Description

This is a row of five houses located on Bell Lane in Ludlow, dating to around 1830. The terrace is constructed of brick with a slate roof and features five brick stacks arranged crosswise along the ridge. The building is three storeys high and has a ten-window front. Each house originally had six-over-six sash windows, with four-over-four sashes to the right; these have been altered in some cases. The windows are set beneath painted stone lintels. Above the original windows are three-over-six sashes and a blind opening.

The entrances are on the right-hand side. Number 25 retains part of its original panelled door, while the others have been replaced with 20th-century doors. The doorcases are constructed of stone and stucco and have simple pediments supported by moulded hoods with richly decorated corbels and a frieze featuring a key motif. Pilasters are decorated with a chevron design. To the left of the doors, there are eight-over-eight sash windows under painted stone lintels. Number 26 has a 19th-century half-glazed panelled door and overlight, along with an eight-over-eight sash window and a clerestory light with glazing bars above.
