Description

The ice house, located approximately 330 metres to the north-east of Sansaw, is likely from the late 18th century. It has a circular plan and is excavated from natural grey sandstone, featuring an earth-covered red brick dome. The entrance is situated to the north-west, although the arch was partly collapsed at the time of the survey in December 1985. Flanking the entrance are low brick retaining walls. This ice house is positioned some distance away from Sansaw, which is dated 1773.
