Description
Clive House is a house built in the late 18th century or early 19th century, with alterations made in the mid to late 19th century at the rear and a 20th-century porch. It is constructed of red brick and has a slate roof, standing three storeys tall. The house features external brick end stacks and has three bays with glazing bar sash windows that have painted rusticated lintels. The late 20th-century gabled brick porch incorporates a door and doorcase from around 1800. The door is six-panelled, with the lower panels flush, the centre raised and fielded, and the top glazed. It also has a reeded impost band and a wreathed radial fanlight, with the doorcase consisting of reeded pilasters, dosserets, and open triangular pediments with dentils. Inside the porch, there are small round-arched windows on the sides and a former front doorway. At the rear, there are two gabled two-storey and attic wings with integral brick end stacks. Although the interior was not inspected, a staircase from around 1800 with a turned newel post has been noted.
