Description
This is a pair of gatepiers located approximately 32 metres to the east of the Church of St George. They were probably built around 1877 and incorporate some medieval materials from the church. The gatepiers are made of coursed sandstone and limestone rubble, featuring limestone hinge-blocks and chamfered caps. Each square gatepier stands about 1.5 metres high. To the east, there are two reused medieval carved sandstone heads. The pair is accompanied by two wooden gates from the late 19th or early 20th century, which are not included in the listing.
