Description
The wall is part of the former Franciscan Priory and now forms the central basement of a carpet factory. It dates back to the medieval period and has undergone some later alterations. Constructed from red sandstone, the wall extends approximately 18 metres in a north-south direction and returns west for about 1 metre at the north end before merging into a 19th-century structure. The north face features a battered plinth and the wall stands around 2.5 metres high overall. It is likely part of the east claustral range of the friary, which was founded around 1244.
