Description
The outer precinct wall of Hulne Friary is a medieval structure that has undergone some later repairs. The outer face of the wall is made of roughly-squared stone, while the inner face consists of coursed rubble. The wall is 0.65 metres thick and stands 2.8 metres high, topped with a steeply-pitched rubble coping above a projecting band. From the current gateway located to the north-east of the friary, the wall extends south for approximately 120 metres, ending near a ruined section close to the river, and runs west for about 150 metres, concluding at 20th-century kennels.
