Description

Nos 16 and 17 on Cartway are early 19th century buildings made of red brick and stand two storeys tall. The front features one small sash window and one modern casement window, with a plain gable on the left side. There is a simple doorway with steps leading up to it, and a restored 19th century shop front. The returned side of the building has two sash windows, one of which lacks glazing bars. The eaves are dentilled and the roof is tiled. These buildings are included for their group value, as they are part of a collection that includes the Methodist Church and other consecutive properties on Cartway.
