OSWESTRY RURAL C.P. L-shaped barn and stables at Pentre'r-gaer-henblas

GV II Barn/cowhouse and stables.Late C17 or early C18 with later additions and alterations. Timber framed with horizontal plank infill on east side and weatherboarding to west; high uncoursed limestone rubble plinth and stone gable ends, southern with crow-stepping, slate roof.

L-plan with barn/cowhouse along west side of farmyard and short later stone range (stables) at right angles on north. Scattered C19 doors and openings on both sides to cowhouse accommodation below barn and heightened cart entrance in third bay from south; framing: three square panels from cill to wall-plate. Interior: queen strut roof in six bays (more closely spaced to south) has straight windbraces, butt purlins and v-struts from collars; long straight tension braces to framed partitions; raised threshing floor in second bay from north and C19 cowstalls in basement animal accommodation to south.
