Description
The stable block at Cruckton Hall is a building that has been repurposed as a store. It likely dates from the late 18th century and has undergone later additions and alterations. The structure is made of red brick with stone dressings and features a machine-tiled hipped roof. It stands two storeys high and has a dentilled eaves cornice. The façade consists of six bays arranged in a 2:2:2 pattern, with the central section slightly projecting and topped by a pediment. The windows have been altered, featuring 20th-century casement and fixed-light styles, but the original roundel below the pediment remains. The ground floor retains an arcade of two elliptical stable arches, which are now blind with windows inserted, and the inner doors on either side have also been blocked. A central lead-capped octagonal wooden cupola, which once housed a bell and clock, is located at the rear. Inside, there are three 19th-century cast-iron loose boxes.
