Description

This is a farmbuilding range dating from the 18th century, located approximately 25 metres north-east of Munslow Farmhouse. The structure is built from red brick and coursed rubble stone, topped with plain-tile roofs. It is arranged in a U-shape facing Munslow Farmhouse and consists of a barn on the left, a curving cattle shed in the centre, and a stable range on the right.

The exterior of the brick barn features a stable door in the centre and another door to the right. There are two gabled half-dormers above, each with boarded hay-loft doors, and various ventilation holes. The barn has doors at both the front and rear.

The cattle shed, constructed of stone, has a combination of partly open and partly weatherboarded bays on the left, weatherboarded bays with doors in the centre, and open bays on the right, which have a corrugated-iron roof.

The stable range is made of stone with a brick front and is two storeys high. It has three boarded or louvred windows above four boarded stable doors, as well as four boarded or louvred windows. The overall structure features cambered brick arches. At the right end, there is a flight of stone steps leading up to a granary doorway, with a window opening in the gable. The rear is mostly blank, except for a small two-light window and a blocked opening.

Inside, the stable range has reused chamfered spine beams that have been turned over, along with stalls and feeding racks. The roof is only partly visible but includes king-post trusses and old purlins. The cattle shed features queen-strut trusses and feeding troughs. The interior of the barn has not been inspected.
