Description

The Langley memorial, located approximately 0.8 meters south of the nave of the Church of St Mary, is a chest tomb dating from around 1814. It is made of sandstone and has a rectangular shape. The tomb features a moulded plinth with a chamfered top ledger and fluted corner pilasters. On the south side, there is a recessed semi-circular inscription panel dedicated to Robert Langley, who died in 1814. The north side is left blank, as are the raised oval inscription panels at both ends. The top ledger bears an inscription for Robert's wife, Petronella, who died in 1816.
