Description
Strefford Cottages is a house that has been converted into two houses, dating from the 17th century and 19th century. It features a timber-frame and plaster construction with sandstone rubble and a plain tile roof. The building has a T-shaped plan with a rubble stack that has a brick shaft for the cross wing, and a brick ridge stack on the left side.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a four-window range, including three 19th-century two-light casements and a larger window with a casement and a simple wooden hood on the 19th-century rubble cross wing. There is a plank door beneath a simple metal cambered hood, along with a 19th-century three-light casement and 20th-century casements to the left. To the right, there is a 20th-century plank door in an altered opening, also under a similar hood. On the right side, there is a 19th-century two-light casement beneath a simple wooden hood, above a 20th-century window. The left side features 20th-century casements, stick framing on the ground floor, and a collared truss. Inside, the cross wing is believed to contain timber-framing.
