Description
The lych gate at the Church of the Holy Trinity, built around 1885, features a coursed rubble plinth with ashlar detailing. It has a timber frame with pierced plank infill and a hipped plain tile roof topped with a cross-finial. The exterior showcases chamfered framing and arch-braces, moulded eaves, and a moulded band at the plinth. Wrought-iron screens are present on the returned sides, and there is a pair of gates with strap hinges and wrought-iron spikes. Inside, the lych gate contains stone seats and a flagstone floor, along with a moulded and modillioned wood band that bears an inscription dedicated to John and Mary Ann Jones, who both passed away in 1885.
