Description

This building is an outbuilding located approximately 20 metres north-west of Church Bank. Originally a cottage from the 17th century, it was extended in the late 18th or early 19th century and has undergone further alterations since. The structure features a weatherboarded timber frame set on a rubblestone plinth, with a corrugated iron covering on the left gable end and an extension to the right made of uncoursed limestone rubble. The roof is also corrugated iron. The original single-cell cottage was converted for agricultural use during its extension. There is a central door accessed by external steps, with a subsidiary door to the right. Inside, the framing is visible, showcasing rectangular panels with two extending from the cill to the wall-plate. The roof has queen struts, cambered tie beams, and V-struts from the collar. This building is included for its group value.
