Description
The Teese Memorial and railed enclosure, located approximately 14 meters south of the Church of Saint Andrew, is a chest tomb and railed enclosure dated 1825. It is constructed from grey sandstone ashlar and features a sarcophagus design with globe feet, a moulded plinth, reeded corner piers, a moulded cornice, a chamfered top, and a large urn finial adorned with carved paterae and rope ornament. The sides have recessed panels with bead ornamentation, while the ends feature recessed panels with carved paterae. The inscription reads: "In Respectful Memory of/ WILLIAM TEESE late of SLEAP HALL GENT/who died August the 21st 1825 Aged 30 years." Surrounding the tomb is a wrought-iron railed enclosure with square-section spearhead railings, square-section standards, curved stanchions, and urn finials.
