Description
This is a group of three pedestal tombs dedicated to the Hughes and Home families, located approximately 35 metres to the north-west of the tower of the Church of St. John the Baptist. The tombs date from the late 18th century and early 19th century and are made of sandstone ashlar. They feature moulded capping and large wreathed urn finials. The southern tomb is inscribed with "Ann Hughes died 1833," the central tomb reads "William Hughes [former husband] 1804," and the northern tomb states "John Home died 1797."
