Description
Heathcote Farmhouse is a building dating from the mid to late 18th century, situated in Stoke Upon Tern. It is constructed of painted brick with rendered dressings, and has a plain tile roof. The farmhouse is two storeys and gable-lit attic, with three storeys at the rear. Architectural details include rendered quoins, a plat band, a moulded dentil brick eaves cornice, and parapeted gable ends with moulded stone kneelers and copings. External brick end stacks and an integral lateral brick stack are present at the rear.
The front facade has a two-window arrangement, with 16-pane glazing bar sashes featuring exposed boxes, rendered dressings, and rendered rusticated lintels with raised keystones. A central 19th-century four-panelled door, with lower flush panels, an impost band, rectangular overlight, panelled reveals, a soffit, and a moulded architrave (lacking a former frieze and cornice) is also present.
The rear elevation has raised eaves and features three segment-headed, leaded wooden cross windows. A service wing adjoins to the right, featuring a single storey and attic layout with two large gabled eaves dormers incorporating 3-light 20th-century casements. There are also two ground-floor 3-light casements flanking a central boarded door. The interior of the farmhouse was not inspected.
Adjoining the farmhouse to the left is an 18th-century garden wall constructed of red brick with stone coping and buttresses.
