Description

This is a late 18th-century house located on the south side of High Street. The front facade is constructed of ashlar stone, while the main building is stuccoed, with a timber-framed wing at the rear. The roof is slate, with a moulded stone eaves cornice. The house is three stories high and has three bays. It features sash windows with glazing bars, with smaller windows on the second floor and three-light sashes on the ground floor. The central doorway is stone, with pilasters, a broken pediment, a semi-circular fanlight with radial glazing bars, and a flush panel door. A flight of four stone steps leads to the doorway. The front area is enclosed by railings with spear-headed shafts and a stanchion with urns. The interior is largely unaltered and modest, containing a staircase with stick balusters, a column newel, and a moulded handrail, along with moulded plaster ceiling cornices and original joinery, including doors, architraves, and a corner cupboard with pilasters.
